Rules

The Sims 3 Legacy Challenge is a  long, 10-generation challenge where you start out with a single sim either male or female who acts as the founder. With very humble beginnings they try to lead the family to fame, fortune and success over the course of 10 generations. For a full list of the Sims 3 Legacy Challenge rules, click here.

Pinstar1161The Legacy Challenge was created by a great Simmer by the name of Pinstar (picture of his avatar to the left). Pinstar was also the founder of the Sims 2 Legacy Challenge (www.legacychallenge.com) – which launched thousands of rabid Simmers into years of creating fun, wild stories about their attempts to meet the challenge of building a ten generation family legacy.

Now Pinstar has graciously created new rules for the newest installment of the Sims for all of us crazy Sim addicts. This blog documents my attempt to meet his Sims 3 Legacy Challenge.

I will be playing with optionaly rules that I have decided to use. Which are the matriarchy rule and story telling option. This means that since the founder is a female, all other heirs to the legacy must be a female to carry on the bloodline. Males can still live in the legacy home but they do not count to carry on the families bloodline.

I was just curious on how some one would go about starting some thing like this. I am wanting to do it, but my problem would be how to get the pictures where I need them to be. If you could help that would be great.

Hey becky, thanks for reading and commenting. Starting a legacy blog is not at all difficult. First, get an account with wordpress and start writing your posts and there is an icon in a square shape that enables you to insert pictures. If you need any help, don’t hesitate to ask! :D

The way that your legacy page is set up, I do not know how to do that. I know that mine would look better that way.

With the way that your header is for your legacy, how did you do that. I want to dot hat with mine because I will have some of my people grow up to where I can do a poll and find out who will be the next heiress.

Hey Becky it is simple. Go to appearence in the dashboard. Under appearence click header. Once there upload a picture that will act as the header.

I can figure that part out, but how do I get more than one o there like the one for this one? I would like to do my generation line across the top and have yet to figure that one out.

Hey Simsjunkey, I created my header using paint. I just cut their faces and put it in a new document.

Wow. You have a whole blog to document the lives of your many generations of Sims. Good luck meeting the challenge! Happy simming from HollyTheStrange, you might also know me as Stittle.

I have added another chapter and had to shut the Gordan legacy down due to the game freezing on that family. I have started it over again and hope to have it back up soon. I am going to continue to work on the Patrick family and see what happens with the new twin girls. I am not sure if there is going to be more than two daughters, but we will see what happens later. Thank you for reading and giving what advice you have.

Hey ant, I have just one question: are you playing with mood and money cheats? Because when I am playing a few generations without mood cheats, I kind of get bored. Don’t you have that problem?

    • December 18, 2010 3:25 pm

      Hey Esther,

Good question. I actually don’t play with mood and money cheats, I find that a tad cheating. What’s the point of bringing your family to fame and fortune if you use cheats? Thanks for the question! :D

Well, I think I have to agree with that! You’re right! :D

BTW, have you ever had natural twins in the sims? It just happened to me! I’m very happy right now :D

    • December 19, 2010 1:22 pm

My first two children for my founder were a set of twins that were not a product of the fertility treatment. They were natural. I have also had triplets naturally. That one only happened once.
